The Mental Health: Taking Action to Tackle Suicide (TATS) package is part of the Australian Government’s
increased effort in suicide prevention, which aims to reduce the tragic toll suicide imposes on individuals,
families and communities. As part of the TATS package, $30.2 million in funding is being provided over four
years from 2011–12, for the Supporting Communities to Reduce the Risk of Suicide initiative, to support
community-led suicide prevention activities that target groups and communities at high risk of suicide,
including Indigenous Australians.
