This month I presented my Thai dance “Commissioning Project” to the Canada Institute of Linguistics. Together with Maat, a Thai international student attending college here in Canada, we researched traditional Thai dance movements and created a new, “Scripture Infused” dance that tells the story of the transformation she has experienced in her life. We worked with a local Thai church here in Canada who provided another Thai dancer, musicians and an artist to create a painting in Thai cultural context. We presented the new artistic work one week before she returned to Thailand and received very positive feedback from Thai people as well as the students and staff at CanIL. We have introduced Maat to Wycliffe Thai Foundation with the recommendation she will be considered to serve as a one-year intern.
