Laws on Climate Change
The “Climate Change Act of 2009” is the leading Philippine law on climate change. The said law recognizes the “right of the people to a healthful ecology in accord with the rhythm and harmony of nature” . The law further creates a Climate Change Commission composed of the President of the Philippines and three Commissioners appointed by the President . An Advisory Board is also created composed of the Secretaries and leaders of all major departments in the Philippines including Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Education, Health, Social Welfare and Development.
