Domestic industries are more concerned with global competition and fear of losing their market demand against multinationals unless they make a serious attempt to improve manufacturing processes. However, change phenomenon is not an easy task because resistance to change is primarily attributed to the mindset of top management (myopic vision of short term gains) and indifferent attitude of emp- loyees. Scenario can be changed by gradually educat- ing the sub-ordinates simultaneously with profess- sional approach of top management to the root cause of problem. LM generally appeared to be known as productivity improvement technique by most of the industries.
