Many studies suggest that limestone hills in Thailand
provide critical habitat for endemic and rare species of
plants and animals, e.g., the plants Wrightia siamensis,
Thepparatia thailandica, and Adiantum phanomensis, the
rodents Leopoldamys neilli and Niviventer hinpoon, the
bird Napothera crispifrons calcicola, and at least seven fish
and dozens of snail species
