There are no accepted guidelines for SS/SS management in LMICs. However, several evidence-based recommendations have been generated in their absence. They highlight the high rate of HIV and other potentially contributing infectious diseases (such as malaria and typhoid fever), regional variation in bacteriology, and emphasize the importance of rapid recognition of sepsis and the need for additional training and research.Table 3 is a summary of a systematic review of best-practice interventions tailored to resource-limited settings.
