Bomb posts spark suicide
A man was found dead in an apartment suicide in Pathum Thani on Wednesday after he came under fire from angry netizens against posts uploaded on his Face-book about the Erawan shrine bombing.
The posts were shared by unidentified people who gained unauthorized access to his Facebook account.
The dead man, identified as Krittisak Meemang, 36, of Lop Buri, worked at a department store in the Rangsit area.
Khu Khot police investigator Pol Lt Prathan Wakchaiphum said he was alerted to Kittisak's death around 9pm on Wednesday.
The man's aunt, identified only as Usa, said she found Krittisak hanging in his bedroom at his home in Lum Luk Ka district. She had gone to check on him because he had missed dinner.
Ms Usa said Krittisak became agitated after he forgot to log off his Facebook account at a computer game shop on Sunday.
He filed a complaint with Khu Khot police because he was afraid his Facebook account could be abused.
He later told his aunt someone gained access to his account and used it to post photos and messages about the Erawan bombing on Aug 17.
Ms Usa said her nephew became afraid after many netizens posted threatening comments on his Facebook page.
On Monday, Krittisak told his aunt he was followed by three men. He was attacked by two men on Wednesday, the day he was found dead, while walking to work. He reported the attack to police the same day.
