Conclusions
Coffee pulp is a by-product with nutritional properties and can be included in diets for sheep. Inclusion of coffee pulp at the highest level evaluated, 16%, had no effect on weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, or rumen pH, but it did increase the antioxidant capacity of the diets and the production of volatile fatty acids in the rumen. Coffee pulp decreased plasma oxidation in sheep, protecting them from a state of oxidative stress.
