Dietary GSP supplementation in weaned piglets gave rise to improved antioxidant ability, enhanced immunity and reduced diarrhea incidence. It seems like that GSP should thus beneficially improve the growth performance in pigs, but there were no significant differences in the growth performance among treatments during the whole 4-week experiment. From these results, we speculated that the efficiency of dietary GSP on the growth performance of weaned piglets may be related to the weaning age and BW of the animal and the additive dose of GSP. More studies are needed to confirm if GSP have a beneficial role in the growth performance of weaned piglets.
