An AoN network displays the activities by nodes and precedence relations by
arcs. Most commercial software tools rely on the activity-on-the-node format. The
construction of an AoN network is very simple and is, in contrast to an AoA
network, not subject to a set of rules. Dummy activities are not necessary, apart
from a single initial start and a single end activity, which makes an AoN network
always unique. The AoN representation of the technological link between activity i
and activity j can be displayed as in Fig. 2.6.
