Next, students need to calculate the density of the
aluminum foil. To do this, they measure the mass of the
foil (Figure 2), the length of the foil (9.5 cm; see Figure
3), and the width of the foil (10.5 cm; see Figure 4).
Once these measurements are taken, there is only one
unknown to determine its density, the thickness of the
