Owners of caravan sites must, subject to certain exemptions, hold an appropriate site licence which, although free of charge, must have planning permission or a certificate of lawful development.
Once licensed, all sites will be inspected by the council on a regular basis and all complaints are responded to promptly. If standards are not maintained, legal action may be taken against the site licence holder and, in extreme cases, necessary work may be carried out by the council and re-charged.
