Forced Air Cooling: The use of a fan (or other air
moving equipment) within a (sub)system to move
air across heat producing components in order to
reduce the ambient temperature. See Convection
Cooling, Free Convection and Forced
Convection.
Forced Convection: An operating environment in
which air movement induced by a fan, blower, etc.
is used to maintain power modules within operating
limits. See Convection Cooling, Free Convection
and Forced Air Cooling.
