Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have been mushrooming since 2006 and according to the statistics by Census Report on Small and Medium Enterprises in 2011, there was a total of 645,136 registered Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia then, representing 97.3% of the total business establishments in the country. Among them, services and manufacturing sectors recorded the highest growth rates compared to the other sectors with the services sector having a growth rate of 90.1%, followed by the manufacturing sector at 5.9%.
