This ancient temple is believed to predate even the founding of Roi Et province. Its chapel, or Ubosot, was built during the late Ayutthaya period, and contains murals depicting the life story of the Lord Buddha. In the past, it was used for ceremonies where civil servants swore an oath of allegiance to the King, an important rite for the Kingdom. At present, it is a peaceful venue for the practice of Dharma, and is known as SunthonThammaPariyat School.
