in the previous persentation, only one phase is energized at each time. if two windings are energized simultaneously, greater is produced under these conditions because all the stator poles are influencing the rotor. the rotor takes up an intermediate position since it is equally attracted to two stator poles the motor can be made to take a full step simply by reversing the current in one set fo windings
