Representative microorganisms of Gram-positive bacteria
(Bacillus subtilis; local isolate, Staphylococcus aureus; ATCC 6538)
and Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa; ATCC
9027, P. aeruginosa; local isolate, Escherichia coli; ATCC 8739) as
well as the yeast Candida albicans, ATCC 120231 were used to
evaluate the antimicrobial activity of prepared silver nanoparticles.
Bacterial strains were maintained on nutrient agar
slants and the yeast was maintained on potato-dextrose agar
slants at 4 C.
