“Fine dining at a fair price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014 NEW
The Garment had only been open a day or two when my wife and I visited for a Valentine's Day lunch but there were no teething troubles in evidence.
Service was friendly, polite and attentive (but not overly so), the waiter was knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer and spoke excellent English.
We ordered oysters to start and a ribeye steak and a rack of lamb for mains. The food was extremely delicious and well presented. The freshness and quality of the ingredients and the expert cooking being on a par with the best of Bangkok's Western restaurants.
The desserts were real flights of fancy and wouldn't have looked out of place as exhibits in a modern art gallery. I would have preferred something a little more traditional but they still tasted great.
The Garment isn't a cheap place but it is great value for the quality of food and cooking they provide. We couldn't order alcohol due to it being a Buddhist holiday but the drinks list and the well-stocked bar was impressive and, once again, great value.
They open for breakfast too. Eggs Benedict mmmmmmmm!
