The HYPITAT group concluded that induction of labor after 37 weeks gestation was associated with better maternal outcomes, decreased rates of cesarean section and should be recommended in gestational hypertension and mild preeclampsia.
Additionally, the Working Group on High Blood Pressure in Pregnancy recommends induction of labor for women with mild preeclampsia at 38 weeks gestation if favorable cervix, and induction at 40 weeks for all women.
