To start with, look at the current design. Note how little red there is. Talk about brand dilution. Netflix has historically been defined by that lascivious shade of red. It’s so effective that Redbox shamelessly stole it. The current design replaces most of that red with a boring, drab grey. If you want to hand the branding initiative over to Coinstar, Netflix, by all means, feel free to commit financial suicide. Furthermore, there is now no visual separation of the content-containing area from the background. Movie covers are simply cut off by the same shade of grey that they comfortably rested upon just pixels earlier.
