Toshiba Group is working to calculate and analyze GHG*1 emissions throughout its entire supply chain. In FY2012, the Group calculated such emissions for all categories using the calculation methods based on the Ministry of the Environment’s guidelines*2 and compared the results to those for the previous year for each category. The Group reduced GHG emissions during product use (the life cycle stage having the largest amount of emissions) by about 28% compared to the previous year. Toshiba Group believes that it is important to work effectively to reduce GHG emissions throughout the product life cycle by quantitatively analyzing emissions per category as described above.
