PALLIATIVE PROCEDURES
Most patients with lung matastasis die of progressive disease.Disease within the chest can cause disbling symtoms that may progress to become life threatening. Procedures aimed specific cally at palliation can often alleviate symtoms and prolong life.Parenchymal matastases not amenable to complete resection are rarely resected for palliation alone. However, those involving major airways and pericardium or accompanying malignant effusions in the pleural or pericardial spaces often respond well to palliative measures.
