Finally, we did not observe any effect of treatments on fruit
yield, although it is worth pointing out that with 8 replicates and
the observed standard deviation of 9.7 kg/tree, we could only had
detected differences in yield higher than 53% (considering a P-value
of 0.05 and a power of 80%). Anyhow, there was also a non-significant
relationship between earwig abundance and fruit yield,
and both results concur with the abovementioned no-differences
in post-abscission flower survival between treatments.
