2.3.1. Crop scouting
Crop scouting encompassed periodic ground-level inspection of
the crop development. Basic field scouting equipment included: a
clipboard with field scouting forms, field maps, a shovel, a pocket
knife, plastic and paper bags for collecting samples, a 10×hand lens
and a sampling frame, satellite images, a high resolution camera,
labels for identification, HCl and a GPS hand held unit to mark the
locations.
