polysaccharides,also know as glycan ,are natural polymer which a single monosaccharide is a monomer unit . if the monosaccharide is the same kind, it is called homopolysaccharide, unless called heteropolysaccharide. they connect together with different glycosidic linkages. starch (amylose and amylopectin), glycogen and cellulose are the important member of homopolysaccharide (glucan).
Polysaccharides consisting of glucose is called a glucan, the one consisting galactose is called galactan and so on.
