Using an analytic cohort of linked first two singleton
births in the state of Missouri from 1989 to
1997 (n 157,831) and the first three consecutive
singleton births (n 31,699), we conducted an analysis
to examine the association between previous
cesarean delivery and risks of placenta previa and
placental abruption in subsequent singleton pregnancies,
and if a short interpregnancy interval increases
the risk.
