slows gastric emptying, alleviates PPH (Jones et al. 2001).
Lubart et al. (2006) reported that falls in postprandial SBP
are dependent on the carbohydrate content, mainly glucose
and sucrose, of the meal ingested. In particular, the magnitude
of the fall in SBP is related to the rate (g/minute or kcal/
minute) of glucose or sucrose entry into the duodenum.
