Taking inspiration from a dip into the past, Patternbank discovered this print and pattern rich feature for Vogue Italia in December 2007 by celebrated photographer Steven Meisel. Despite their vintage these amazing shots have a timeless artistic quality reminiscent of Gustav Klimt’s exuberant pattern use. Where Klimt’s detailed patterns are in direct contrast with his subject’s skin, in Meisel’s shots the model’s tattooed limbs appear chameleon like, blending with the the twisted landscape of printed fabrics.
