Chinese exports contracted for a fourth successive month during October. China’s General Administration of Customs reported exports tumbled 6.9% YoY in US$ terms (Mkt est: negative-3.2%) following a 3.7% decline in September. Imports cratered 18.8% YoY (Mkt est: negative-15.2%) following a plunge of 20.4% in September. The trade surplus expanded to US$61.64bln (Mkt est: $62bln) from $60.3bln.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 46.90 points, or 0.25%, to 17,910.33.
