This research revolved around the basic issue of whether the confidence
and perceptions of an experimental population o f end-users are changed by
bibliographic enhancements added to an OPAC display. The research study
examined whether an experimental population o f end-users experienced greater
confidence about their decisions regarding books found in OPAC displays when
these displays were augmented by bibliographic enhancements. The study also
examined the effects that the inclusion of enhancements had on the perceptions
and evaluations o f the books represented by the OP AC-like displays. In both cases
the research questions have been affirmed by the data analysis.
