Hard Summer Festival moves to Whittier
Los Angeles Historic State Park is closed for construction this year, but Hard Summer Music Festival fans can still get their fill of fun. The biggest annual dance party is moving a mere 10 miles down the freeway to Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte to bang out the grooves Aug. 2-3.
With more than 100 acres, the new site will become festival central with five stages and more than 75 performers.
“It’s such a great park with more room to do things that have not been possible for Hard in the past. Plus it has tons of trees and grass which makes a great setting for the festival,” Gary Richards of Hard Events said in a press release.
And the love affair for Hard Fest is mutual, as the park is looking forward to hosting the event.
“This concert has been very successful at Los Angeles State Historic Park and we are pleased to welcome Hard Summer to Whittier Narrows Recreation Area,” said Andre Herndon, spokeswoman for the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation. “It is a beautiful location and we are looking forward to a high-quality event that will be enjoyable for all who attend,”
