What are five limitations I should be aware of when using database for research?
Database- including online encyclopedias such as Wikipedia-can provide you with more facts and faster facts but not always better facts. Penny Wiliams, professor of broadcast journalism at Buffalo State College suggests 5 limitations to bear in mind when using database for research as following;
1. You Can’t Get The Whole Story : For some purposes, databases are only a foot in the door. There may be many facts or facets of the topic that are not in a database. Reporters, for instance, find a database is a starting point. It may take intensive investigation to get the rest of the story.
