Hong Kong-based jeweller Vulcan Jewelry recently unveiled its latest 3D-printed product – the Kinetic Ring with three moving gems.
Vulcan Jewelry was founded by entrepreneur Desmond Chan, who has worked in the 3D animation industry in Hong Kong for about ten years, according to 3ders.org.
The Kinetic Ring, as the name implies, was inspired by kinetic rolling balls, the report said. It has rubies embedded in a wearable ring. “This ring features three ruby spheres that start at the top track, and by gravity, follow a path into a small spring,” said Chan. “The rolling gemstones move with every movement of the wearer. It explores the delicate balance between freedom and captivity.”
3D printing is used to make a casting mould for the final creation, according to the report.
