4. Discussion
Though the beneficial effect of physical activity on indices of glycemic control and cardiovascular health has long been known, monitoring an exercise program and giving objective feedback in terms of an increase in step count, decrease in HR for a given exercise intensity may increase compliance of patients and make them more responsible for their health and thus has implications for use in exercise programs for mass populations. Our study showed that monitoring an aerobic walking program using a pedometer and HRM is effective in changing the studied parameters of glycemic control
