Suparat Sirisuwannangkura, Toyota Motor Thailand's representative on Evat's committee, said the association was proposing the exemption of import tariffs and excise tax on hybrid and EVs, while the government should subsidise their retail prices.
"The Japanese government, for example, subsidises ¥2 million (580,000 baht) of the price of ¥7 million for a fuel-cell vehicle to spur demand," he said.
