Fire trucks and ambulances both use sirens. A siren is a device that makes a very loud noise. The loud noise lets cars on the road know that there is an emergency. In an emergency, cars on the road need to move out of the way. This is because someone who has an emergency is in danger and needs to get help fast.
When there is a fire, a fire truck comes to help the people in danger. The fire fighters in the truck use the siren. When other cars hear the siren, they move out of the way. With the other cars out of the way, the fire fighters can drive very fast to get to the fire.
When someone is very sick or hurt, an ambulance comes to help. The medics in the ambulance use the siren. When other cars hear the siren, they move out of the way. With the other cars out of the way, the medics can drive very fast to help the person who is sick or hurt.
