The effect exerted by the biosurfactant from C. sphaerica on the
biodegradation of motor oil via the activity of indigenous marine
bacteria and fungi was evaluated during 30 days The biosurfactant acted as a solubilizer of the motor oil, as demonstrated
by the acceleration and growth of these microorganisms throughout the 30 days of cultivation in the presence of the biosurfactant
at both the concentration of 0.0125% (at 1/2 CMC), 0.025% (at CMC)
and 0.125% (at 5× CMC)
