Some people say that current dominant values are related to money and social states while others say old-fashioned humanity such as dignity, tenderness and reliance remains one the important factors to judge people. I will give examples of both sides, and explain the reason why I believe that traditional values still work on making human relationships.
Needless to say, materialism has been popular especially since 20th century. For example, Japanese students tend to choose their universities and jobs from the point of view of their brands. They consider that famous and big companies are worthy to join in often regardless of these working culture, co-workers and industries. Naturally, this trend causes many turnovers in 3 years after they started working there. As an another notable example, his or her social status is the only way to evaluate a person in social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. In these kinds of sites, people put their school and working history on their profile pages. It is quite useful for making business connection with friends' friends.
On the other hand, those who got tired of such a competitive culture has started to look humanity factors again. Recently, typical urban young generation tries to make their cyber friends mainly because of lack of deep mutual understandings with others. Celebrities such as singers, actors, NO:they have an extravagant lifestyle by owning expensive cars, possessing large houses, spending costly in their daily life, which are most of youngsters’ dreams because of currently competitive world. Whereas, NO(it seems) fewer people have noticed that these famous people need to pay a cost for their so-callED social status. MostNOof celebrities go through betraying, cheating, having sexual or drug scandals. Thus being rich or famous can gain public respect shortly BUT by paying a tollratherthan a long term. Unclear…
