Good morning everyone. First of all, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Naphattra and I’m pafun. Today we’re going to talk about “How to make a denim book cover”.
Our supplies are 1 pair of Old Jeans , Notebook , Scissors , Glue gun and decoration item.
The first step is cut a leg from a pair of old stretch jeans. Cut a pocket off of the back of the jeans, leaving the backing so it’s still a pocket.
Next step , Place book on the jeans and determine width and length of material. The fabric when folded top and bottom should hit at exactly the width of book. Measure twice and then cut to size.
Run a bead of glue along the top and bottom edge of folded fabric, and allow to dry.
Next step , Slide the front of the book cover into each side of your folded and glued fabric, creating protective sleeve.
Adjust the fabric tension and glue the edge down on each side. Repeat for the back cover.
.
next step , Glue pocket on front of cover with Patch and Applique glue. Allow to dry.
The last step is decorate the book cover.
Note one pair of jeans will make two notebooks. You could even glue denim fabric to the front the notebook cover before you attach the pocket, so that you will have an entire denim journal. An eco-friendly craft like this one are also practical as your kids can fill the pocket with school supplies like pens, pencils, markers and rulers. Thus this notebook will be both functional and stylish.
