The present investigation was carried out at Horticulture Garden, Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour to study the effect of time and grafting methods on success and growth of mango grafts. The treatment combinations were comprised of six time of grafting i.e. from 30th June to 15th September at fortnightly interval with three methods of grafting viz, veneer grafting, cleft grafting and tongue grafting. The experiment was laid out in split – plot design with three replications. Studies revealed that veneer grafting performed on 15th July recorded minimum time (13.00 days) for bud sprouting, the highest graft-take success (96.66 per cent) and survival (90 per cent). The same grafting methods i.e. veneer grafting while performed on 30th June, 15th July and 30th July produced maximum scion radial growth (12.14mm), scion linear growth (26.25cm) and number of leaves (24) respectively after 180 days of grafting. Thus, it is clearly indicated that veneer grafting in the month of July was proved to be the best propagation technique for higher success and growth of mango grafts.
