Due to the scope of the project the manual selection method is the most suitable. The constant value method will give unspecific results while the GIS-based method requires high detail and accuracy data input such as 3 dimension CAD drawing of the buildings. The manual selection method requires a high resolution satellite imaging or aerial photo of scope of study. In this case Google Earth software will be used because of its high resolution and recent imaging. The identification of each site will be done manually by selecting all roof areas of buildings. A building may have several sites depending on the availability of the area and orientation. The sites will then be drawn onto a map by using the polygon tool in Google Earth to draw the boundaries. Each of the sites that have been identified will undergo site survey to collect information on its characteristics.
