The paper presents the development of a traffic systems management course aiming to prepare graduates to deal with the
emerging rapid changes and challenges in urban travel demand and supply in the Palestinian territories. The paper also shows
how the course prepares graduates to adapt the global shift in philosophy in dealing with the traffic congestion towards
improving the efficiency of existing facilities. The course trains the students to design and evaluate low-cost, short-term, and
quick-to-implement strategies for enhancing the traffic conditions and facilitating the achievement of sustainable built
environment.
