D. Displaying Query Results
In the information layer, the query results are displayed
around the virtual street laid in the middle of the device. As
shown in Fig. 16, the width (Ax) and height (Ay) the
regional data elements are extracted and the central location
of the device screen is determined. Here, the horizontal value
is the distance between the particular street and the regional
data element; the vertical value is the distance between the
regional data element and the user. The screen displays only
the regional data elements that are within threshold
distances, but the user can maneuver the screen to view the
regional data elements outside the boundary. Rather than
showing the data in the larger area, only the data on the
selected street within a restricted area is displayed. Using this
method, overlapping is prevented for the regional data
elements in the same direction.
