Many of Ayutthaya’s restaurants are located near the accommodation areas, particularly along the main thoroughfare, Naresuan road, where visitors can and provide vastly different atmospheres.
Thai food in Ayutthaya includes dishes that are more typically associated with other regions of the country. Sticky rice, som tam, khan toke, and roti sai mai have greatly different culinary roots, but have become integral aspects of Ayutthaya cuisine.
Foreigners can even find many favorites from home at restaurants serving
by local cuisine specialties, including Kung Maenam Pao, grilled river prawns, especially when served alongside the river from which they were caught or upon a boat sailing past the majestic ruins of the old city.
