The result of this study will tell us which tenses in English are the most problematic for EIC student. Instructors can make use of the information to develop lesson plans to help enhance student’s understanding of the problematic tenses. At the same time, factors which cause difficulty in using and learning English tenses will be identified, which can also be useful for instructors to plan appropriate teaching materials and lessons. By the same token, the instructors can use the result of this study to develop a lesson plan to increase understanding and efficiency in using and learning tenses for other English major in our faculty.
As mentioned above, non-native learners in several contexts have struggled in learning English tenses. However, there is not yet research on EIC students. Therefore, this research would like to aim to study this group of students in order to find out the differences and similarities from the past studies.
