Wat Chiang Yuen is a temple we missed on our first trip to Chiang Mai, so we did it in 2005. It is located outside of the city wall but one will notice the massive chedi from across the road. It is an old temple with an unknown date of construction but it is said that before becoming the rulers of Chiang Mai, every king had to pay homage to the Pra Suppanyuchao Buddha image inside the Viharn.
