Consultancy: ASEAN Ex-Ante Child Rights Impact Assessment
The Child Protection Section, UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical support on the development of an ex ante child rights impact assessment of ASEAN Integration , and conducting field visits and interviews in ASEAN Member States.
Work Assignment:
Under the supervision of the Regional Child Protection Advisor and Child Protection Specialist, the consultant will perform the following tasks:
1. To develop an ex ante child rights impact analysis of the ASEAN Integration to identify the potential risks as well as opportunities that the ASEAN Integration could manifest in respect of realizing child rights within ASEAN and its Member States.
2. From the analysis above, recommend specific measures that will mitigate, if not eliminate, the identified risks and maximize the positive opportunities brought about by the ASEAN integration.

Estimated Duration of Contract: 3 working days per week over a period of 9 months
Official Travel: Home based assignment with official travel to the Regional Office in Bangkok, ASEAN Secretariat
in Jakarta and in some of the 10 ASEAN Member States (to be determined at a later stage).
Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:
1. Acknowledged expertise in human rights and child rights
2. Extensive familiarity with ASEAN
3. Proven analytical skills
4. Excellent writing skills especially in the English language
