Simultaneous differentialthermalanalysis(SDT)ofthe
powdersisshownin Fig. 2. Inaddition,thedescriptionof
peak positionandweightlossofthepowdersdetermined
by thisanalysisissummarizedin Table2. Allpowders
undergo adehydrationprocessaslocatedbyendothermic
peak intherangetemperature47–57 1C, dependingupon
the Al:Timolarratio.Waterevaporationcontinueswithan
increaseofannealingtemperatureupto112 1C. Decom-
position oftheinorganiccomponentsuchasCl occurs in
two steps,firstlyinthetemperaturerange106–112 1C and
secondly intherangeof121–136 1C. Thefirstdecomposi-
tion stepisobservedforallpowdersandthesecondstepis
only detectedforAT13andAT31.TheadditionofHPCinto
the solsinfluencestheprocessoforganicdecomposition
which isshownbysmallexothermicpeaksintherange
305–364 1C forAT11.Thisisconsistentwiththereported
result forthecompositeTiO2HPC powder [29]. Crystal-
lization ofaluminacompoundisdetectedbysmall
endothermicpeaksintherange752–841 1C depending
on Al:Timolarratio.Moreover, α to θ phase transformation
of aluminacompoundcanbeoccurredintemperature
rangeof898–924 1C.
