In conclusion, the TOTAD interface allows on-line RPLC-GC
with water-containing LC eluents. Solvent elimination is complete,
so that water-sensitive GC detectors can be used. The presented
analysis has a very high sensitivity, and it can be considered an
interference-free method, since the cleaning in the GC chromatogram is very good. The objective of subsequent investigations
should be to avoid the SPE step by increasing the sensitivity of
the RPLC-GC analysis. This objective could be achieved by
injecting larger sample volumes into the liquid chromatograph.
