The Machine ECM controls the following machine operations:
enabling of the Generator ECM which controls the flow of current from the generator into the power inverter. The Generator ECM also controls the flow of current back to the generator during machine overspeed. The power inverter rectifies the AC current produced by the generator into DC current for the propulsion module and the APC.
enable the Motor ECM which controls the flow of power inverter DC current into the drive motors. The Motor ECM also controls the flow of current from the motors to the power inverter during periods of overspeed.
speed and direction of machine travel based on machine input signals from the operator controls.
steering and braking based on machine input signals from the operator controls.
